Based on the weekly box office report by Korean Film Council [Weekend of Oct 3 – Oct 5, 2014], Whistle Blower came up on top of the chart with ticket sales of ₩4.52 billion (total ₩5.46 billion) from 563,539 admissions (total 692,549 admissions). Following Whistle Blower closely on the second place is “Slow Video”, a movie which was released on 2nd Oct, 2014 – the same day as Whistle Blower’s release.
With Whistle Blower topping the chart last weekend, it became the local movie that has overthrown the foreign movie “The Maze Runner” from its two weeks reign on the Weekly Box Office chart. Based on the reviews available so far, the movie is mostly praised and said to be entertaining and easy to watch.
This news certainly is heartwarming – to see the first movie Yoo Yeon Seok acted in the year 2014 to do so well on the box office and the fact that he gets to present to the public a different side of his acting. We wish for more success for Whistle Blower and that more people will get to enjoy the movie and its message!
