Yoo Yeon Seok guested at Park Kyung Lim’s 2 O’Clock Date at MBCmini FM4U on 4 January 2016. For an hour or so, he chattered at great length about many topics including his new movie <Mood That Day>, reply drama, dating styles, and forever-favorite topic, bestfriend Son Ho Jun.
But before all of that, selfie is a must!!
With his movie’s release scheduled in few weeks time, Yoo Yeon Seok touched upon his character Jae Hyun who abrasively expresses his wish to a woman he just met on a train ride. Jae Hyun’s upfront request surely shocks the leading lady in the movie. In real life, however, Yoo Yeon Seok admitted that he once asked for the number of a lady whom he met for the first time on subway and who happened to sit across him. He said that he got off the same station in time as her and gathered all courage to talk to her. He said to her, “I really like you, so I feel that I would regret not asking you for your contact information”. He successfully got her contact information and both remain friends to date.
Park Kyung Lim then asked which type of man he is, comparing his previous character “Chilbong” who only has an eye for one women for a very long time and “Jae Hyun” who is a dogged and aggressive man. Quoted from AllKpop, Yoo Yeon Seok muttered that “I’m neither aggressive nor someone who suffers a one-sided love; I just love normally. I’m not a guy who looks on [at a woman I like] without saying anything but that doesn’t mean I say things that will land me a slap on the cheek. I’m more the type to confess if I like someone enough not to regret it.” There you go ladies, the “let’s not regret” motto springs to life again.
Still on <Mood of the Day>, Yoo Yeon Seok was spilling the beans on how Moon Chae Won reacted to his dirty jokes during the filming. The filming requires Yoo Yeon Seok to throw dirty jokes as his character continues to charm Moon Chae Won. Flirtatious mode between the two finally came naturally as she took his jokes very well. Yoo Yeon Seok said that the environment of the movie was pleasant thanks to her.
Even after a year, a discussion with Yoo Yeon Seok will never be completed without touching upon his breakthrough drama, “Reply 1994”. He pointed out that while “Reply 1994” focuses more on finding the husband, the current installment “Reply 1988” revolves around family matter. He said that he is having fun watching Reply 1988 albeit his wish to say that his own Reply 1994 is more enjoyable. Yoo Yeon Seok also identifies himself with Taek (Park Bo Gum’s character in Reply 1988), including the way Taek loves someone one-sidedly. He hopes that Taek fulfills the love that he couldn’t (in Reply 1994).
Lucky for Yoo Yeon Seok, Reply 1994 brings him to a new height in his career despite the one-sided love his Chilbong kept for years. Reply 1994 also introduced us to his bestie Son Ho Jun whom he refers as “love”.
Park Kyung Lim: What Son Ho Jun means to Yoo Yeon Seok?
Yoo Yeon Seok: Love..?
