Another year has passed since our first ever birthday project for Yoo Yeon Seok. Time flies, right? It is still fresh in our mind all the presents that we presented with love to him last year. We had a birthday video message, special Chilbongie present and various gifts.
This year, we are happy to share with you all that a birthday present was delivered in a form of an international food basket. It was somehow a twist project to the earlier intended gift. We apologized for the sudden change of plan and are thankful for the support that we received even in the midst of all the changes.
The gifts represent countries where Yoo Yeon Seok fans come from. We have food from Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, India, Argentina, England, and many more. The project came together with the help of many and we are thankful for all the help we received.
The food basket idea was initiated before Yoo Yeon Seok agreed to play Chef Baek Geun Woo in his first leading role in “Warm and Cozy”. Therefore, to our surprise we could not have imagined a more suited birthday present for him. We then added two more gifts: an apron and chef towel – both customized for his first leading role.
We are once again wishing Yoo Yeon Seok happy birthday and a successful drama
YeoNiverse: Do you remember what happened in September last year?
YeoNizens: YOUTH OVER FLOWERS!
The moment the Laos trip was announced, we believe that all Yoo Yeon Seok, Baro and Hojun fans were cheering. Cheering for another chance to see the trio on our screens again. Cheering for the chance to see their bromance and real life personalities. Squeeing while being all happy and giddy..
For us, Youth Over Flowers Laos edition presented us not only the opportunity to see our beloved actor back on screen, but also a golden opportunity to work with the forever amazing Banasubbers. We agreed to work to sub the amazing show and committed to do it as a team. We spent hours working on subbing, timing and encoding the video before finally releasing it for all of you to enjoy.
The result of this amazing teamwork?

2014 has come to a close for YeoNiverse and we would like to first and foremost thank all of you for having made this past year a memorable one. We hope that this year will be just as successful for Yoo Yeon Seok and our fan club.
Our first and most important priority with it being the first quarter of the year already is preparing for our star’s 32nd (Korean age) birthday. Given the vastness of his YeoNiverse and how far apart we are from each other, we need to start early… And just like last year’s birthday project we will need your help!
For this year’s birthday project, we have a question: if you could give Yoo Yeon Seok a message, or if you can wish something for his birthday, what would it be? For this year’s gift, we will be givin YeoNizens the opportunity to express these messages and wishes for our star.
In the next few days we will be releasing specifics regarding the project, so please stay on the lookout. Here’s to a great 2015 and we look forward to hearing from all of you soon!

Can you believe it, but it’s already almost 1 year since YeoNiverse was formed! Our anniversary for when we officially began is actually New Year’s Eve, and although we can’t promise you a ChilBong to countdown to New Year’s Day and kiss you, we have a fantastic giveaway to thank you all for your support.
For everyone who has donated over $10USD to YeoNiverse since October this year, until the Lunar New Year 2015 (February 19th 2015), you will be put into the draw to win a signed copy of Yoo Yeon Seok’s book ‘DREAM’. Every $10USD donation gives you an entry! So the more you donate, the better your chances of winning this unique prize!
So YeoNizen, get donating!!!! There is a PayPal button for donations on our WordPress here 🙂
PS Stay tuned for some more exciting news to come!
On 21st November 2003 the film Oldboy was released marking the debut of Ahn Yeon Seok in Korea’s entertainment industry.
On casting Yoo Yeon Seok, Park Chan Wook said he needed to find an actor who looked like Yoo Ji Tae, but reassured he didn’t just cast him because of his looks. “He’s very good at acting. When we were filming the scene in the chemistry room with Yoon Ji Seo, I was worried that it might be hard for a rookie actor to do, but after he worried a bit, he tried very hard and created that scene.”
Yoo Yeon Seok’s scene in the science lab is quite daunting for a rookie but he did pretty well. 😉 Check out the movie if you haven’t seen it. Be warned of the violence and the total mind-fuck. (Oops! Pardon the French.)
In celebration of his 11th year, YeoNiverse has handed in this wine – made on the same year of his debut – to Yoo Yeon Seok a couple of weeks ago. We hope he gets to enjoy this together with his friends.
Cheers to Yoo Yeon Seok! Your YeoNiverse is here to support you always and looking forward to celebrating more anniversaries with you.
