[20140929] Yoo Yeon Seok’s Healing Camp episode cut #4 – Jinju Boy Yeon Seok’s Dream

So we’re back with another Healing Camp cut~ 😀

This particular cut is fun and hilarious:

  • Yoo Yeon Seok talked about his first ever play when he was an elementary school kid;
  • The MCs surprised him by revealing his elementary school record; and
  • The story of him being an extra in a movie when he was a in high school.

Towards the end of the cut it was particularly funny to know about his antics back then with regards to the movie extra gig. Surely it does gives us second hand embarrassment and my reaction was the same as MC Lee Kyung Kyu (lol), but at the same time it shows just how he was too adorable, excited and eager with his dream of becoming an actor back then.

Enjoy~

[20140929] Yoo Yeon Seok’s Healing Camp Episode Cut – ‘The love that made actor Yoo Yeon Seok’

So here it is, the second cut from Yoo Yeon Seok’s Healing Camp episode : a story about his ex-girlfriend and how he ended up choosing the Airforce for his military enlistment.

Awww. But truth be told, aside from feeling (a little) bad for him, I couldn’t help but to also laugh at how he was such a pathetic and hopeless romantic back then. xD

[20140930] Yoo Yeon Seok Remembers His Ex-Girlfriend in “Healing Camp”

On a recently broadcast episode of SBS’ “Healing Camp,” Yoo Yeon Seok explained the reason why he entered the military ahead of other actors of a similar age.

Yoo Yeon Seok debuted in the 2003 blockbuster “Oldboy,” in which he played the younger version of Yoo Ji Tae’s character. Because the movie was such a success, most of the actors who appeared in “Oldboy” were able to secure other important roles. However, Yoo Yeon Seok was not as lucky in this regard. “Even though the other actors from ‘Oldboy’ were all acting in other films, I was still stuck in my school’s theater,” he said.

Yoo Yeon Seok therefore decided to enter the airforce. The period of enlistment for the airforce is three months longer than that of the regular armed forces, but he chose not to enlist in the regular army because “The airforce base was near my girlfriend’s house, and I thought this way we could meet often. However while I was in the military she broke up with me. It was suddenly as if I had lost all purpose,” he confessed.

“I resigned myself to the situation and endured it as best I could. If I think about it now, it’s due to that experience that I can act successfully in melodramas and was able to portray my character so well on “Reply, 1994,” he said.

[20140930] Yoo Yeon Seok Admits That He Was Poor for Over Ten Years

On the September 29 episode of the SBS variety show “Healing Camp,” Yoo Yeon Seok revealed the many hardships he experienced prior to becoming a mainstream success.

A popular staple in dramas, commercials, and plays, Yoo Yeon Seok has many female fans and his productions are followed closely by the entire nation. However, it turns out he had to endure over ten years of obscurity before he started to receive attention.

During the episode, the MCs asked Yoo Yeon Seok about this time in his life. “You said you debuted in the movie ‘Oldboy,’ but you had no money?”

Yoo Yeon Seok responded, “After my debut I continuously participated in acting projects, but it wasn’t until ‘Reply 1994′ that I had a positive bank balance. I wasn’t paid much for my appearances and after I paid my rent, I was always in the red.” The MCs looked shocked by his frank confession.

However, 2014 was a different kind of year. “Did you earn a lot?” the MCs asked. In response, he talked about a gift he had given his parents. When he was able to do so, “It seemed like the happiest moment in my life,” he said.

[20140930] Yoo Yeon Seok talks about his rivalry with Song Joong Ki, his fanboy love for Sung Yuri, and his past heartaches

Actor Yoo Yun Suk discussed his fellow actor Song Joong Ki, his one-sided relationship with Sung Yuri, and his past romantic relationships on the latest episode of SBS’ ‘Healing Camp’.

Following his introduction as a guest on the show, Yoo Yun Suk revealed that he has been a true fan of Sung Yuri since her Fin.K.L days. He revealed he had treasured her picture in his wallet because she was so “cute.”

Sung Yuri started off and said, “I’m acquainted with Yoo Yun Suk.” The actor then added, “It’s true. I have been a fan, and now I’ve been signed under the same agency with her. Truthfully, even now if I go near Sung Yuri, I get nervous. In the past, I used to keep a picture of her in my wallet.”

The actor also talked about the various difficulties that he’s faced since his debut 11 years ago. The MCs mentioned that he is considered a rookie, but it’s actually been almost 10 years since his debut and only recently has he been getting the recognition he deserves.

MC Kim Jae Dong said, “Yoo Yun Suk seems to be concerned about Song Joong Ki.” Yoo Yun Suk and Song Joong Ki were co-stars in the hit movie ‘Wolf Boy’, and while Song Joong Ki received a lot of praise for his acting, Yoo Yun Suk garnered the nickname “nation’s bad boy” and “guy you want to slap.”

Yoo Yun Suk said, “For young actors, the military is a very big issue. Since I enlisted early, I am able to be more active while others enlist.”

When the MCs asked when Song Joong Ki is discharged, the actor answered firmly, “Around May,” revealing that he had been keeping tabs on his rival.

The actor then added, “Before everyone gets discharged, I have to focus and film more.”

Lastly, Yoo Yun Suk told a heartbreaking story of when he had a crush on a senior girl in college who was popular with the boys. He began, “I graduated from all-boys middle and high schools and went into college. It was a new world then. There, I met a senior girl, but she was very popular with the guys.”

Yoo Yun Suk added, “I ate with her and even went shopping with her. I just liked being around her. At the time, my friend came back from studying abroad, so we spent time together. In the end, he began having feelings for her as well.”

The actor continued, “I had a hard time because she was so popular. It was even worse because even my friend said he liked her. It made me sad that I couldn’t confess my feelings for her.”
