[by Sora Ghim] MBC ‘Warm and Cozy’ has released points to look out for during the second half of the drama.

As the drama heads into the latter half, the love lines of Baek Gun Woo (Yoo Yeon Seok)-Lee Jung Joo (Kang So Ra) and Song Jung Geun (Lee Sung Jae)-Kim Hae Sil (Kim Hee Jung) are heating up. Adding more to this fire is the love triangles with Hwang Wook (Kim Sung Oh) and Seo Yi Ahn (Mok Ji Won). Also clouded in mystery is the relationship of Kang So Ra’s father and Baek Gun Woo’s mother.

Here are points to look out for in this ‘Hong Sister’s’ romantic comedy.

No.1 Yoo Yeon Seok-Kang So Ra, “Is this the start of the ‘WooJoo Couple’ romance?!”

In the 8th episode, Gun Woo and Jung Joo shared an ‘unexpected hug,’ raising the anticipation of viewers. Gun Woo found out that Jung Joo isn’t ill and rather than be upset that he lent her his entire restaurant at a cheap price, he was relieved. Moreover, Jung Joo said, “You said you were mine till I died. But now what?” to which Gun Woo replied, ““I’ll keep being yours. Until death, I’m yours.” People wonder what will happen afterwards.

Lee Sung Jae-Kim Hee Jung, “How will the ‘JungShil’ couple overcome its greatest difficulty?”

Also in the same episode, a dark cloud overcame the Jung Geun and Hae Shil love line, disappointing many. After much thought, Jung Geun decided to invite Hae Shil to his party but Hae Shil was requested by the Promotional team to help with an event for the party. Not knowing what it was about, Hae Shli and the other divers went along and were instead humiliated. Falling into the resort swimming pool, Jung Geun appeared at that time. Hae Shil found out that Jung Geun was actually the owner of the resort and was cold to him. Unable to stop her, their relationship faces an obstacle as people focus on whether this terrible situation will be able to turn back.

Kim Sung Oh-Seo Yi Ahn, “Never let your guard down!”

The two love triangles, ‘Gun Woo-Jung Joo-Hwang Wook’ and ‘Gun Woo-Jung Joo-Ji Won’ are attracting attention. Hwang Wook and Ji Won will ambush Gun Woo and Jung Joo’s relationship as the two’s feelings grow for each other. In the 8th episode, Hwang Wook subtly confessed to Jung Joo, but Jung Joo didn’t realize as her head was filled with Gun Woo. However, Hwang Wook realized his feelings and started to appeal himself, shaking Jung Joo’s heart. On the other side, Ji Won keeps on getting bothered by Jung Joo who seems to be the reason Gun Woo keeps slipping out of her grasp. Hwang Wook and Ji Won have proved themselves to be great presences that can block Jung Joo and Gun Woo’s relationship.

Yoo Yeon Seok-Kang So Ra, “Who are their real parents?”

The mystery surrounding Gun Woo and Jung Joo’s parents will continue on in the second half of the drama. From the first episode, the relationship between Jung Joo’s father and Gun Woo’s mother was confusing. Moreover, novelist Bu Mi Ra (Kim Mi Jin) showed up with a picture of Jung Joo’s father and Gun Woo’s mother and tries to find out the behind story. Gun Woo’s sister Hee Ra (Ok Ji Young) tell Mi Ra not to write a story about her mother and Gun Woo’s father, hinting at a big clue. What is the actual relationship?

[20150603] Yoo Yeon Seok And Kim Sung Ho Finally Butt Heads

[by Sora Ghim] Yoo Yeon Seok and Kim Sung Oh on MBC ‘Warm and Cozy’ finally go head to head with an arm wrestling match.

On the upcoming 8th episode of the drama, the love rivalry for Kang So Ra will officially start between Yoo Yeon Seok and Kim Sung Oh.

The two will arm wrestle each other in a match that risks their pride. Still cuts of this scene were released, attracting attention. Putting their all in the competition, both men exchange fierce gazes and have a battle of power. As soon as the match starts, they put in all their strength in order to win. Between Yoo Yeon Seok and Kim Sung Oh, who will win?

This scene was filmed on May 30 on the restaurant set in Jeju Island. Both Yoo Yeon Seok and Kim Sung Oh put their all into filming, seemingly forgetting they were acting during the arm wrestle with the realistic performance. Before filming, the two worked hard, practicing and cooperating together.

In particular, during the break, Yoo Yeon Seok and Kim Sung Oh had an extra round, bringing energy onto the set. As the real match began, the two’s rivalry ended with a tie as a winner couldn’t be made. The two actors’ teasing and jokes caused laughter onsite.

Meanwhile, the 7th episode of ‘Warm and Cozy’ will air on Wednesday, June 3 at 10 PM KST. (photo by Bon Factory)

Warm and Cozy Episode 2: Excerpts, Highlights and Screencaps

Episode 2 has concluded its run and now it’s time for some highlights! Unlike the previous post, we want to let you know first what we think about this episode before we indulge deeper with the videos.

– Warm and Cozy is a simple romantic drama. A story of two normal people finding who they are and falling in love with each other. There is no grand gesture of romance (yet). Instead, we may find that the gesture of kindness and cavity-inducing sweetness could well be a strong foundation in love and life. In real life, the story of warm and cozy might be your neighbors’ romantic journey (except Baek Geun Woo’s chaebol status of course). It’s an easy breezy warm drama. Expect no more.

– It is getting apparent that Warm and Cozy relies heavily on characters, not necessarily plots. As the result, some might find it endearing because all the characters will be fleshed out. You might ended up liking them to bits or want to kick them out of your screen. Of course, every choice has its own consequence. Without heavy plot, an episode can be less thrilling because the story will be told through the characters’s growth and interaction with each other. The pace could be slower. Editing will be the key to ensure that the story is told perfectly (which is not really the case in the second episode). For non-Korean speakers, watching with subs will give more satisfaction because the strong point of the episode will be on the banter, conversation, meta jokes and twisted imagination.

– Baek Geun Woo may be an air-head playful manchild, but he has a kind and endearing personality. Unlike the hanyeos (the diving ladies) who hates BGW with burning passion, audience like us can easily fall for his charm and sweetness. Who won’t be swooning if you have a male lead who offers his leading lady three things at once when she is sad. Yes, BGW did just that. When LJJ sat on the beach sand crying over her sad life, he offers her hug and allows her to make him her punching bag. When that didn’t work, he offered her a 30% discount at his restaurant. He ensured her by saying that he doesn’t say empty words and told her to come quickly before he change his mind. When finally LJJ could not eat because she was busily running to catch her cousin, he packed her a bottle of seaweed soup because it’s her birthday (and his birthday too!). aawwww… At the end of the episode, he helped her getting her wish to see sunrise in Jeju, citing he wanted to do it too. They barely made it because they dozed off in his car. It’s cute how he is so nice to her at this stage, most likely because of his hillariously false assumption of LJJ having terminal illness.

– Okay, this will sound repetitive to the previous one, but BGW should be labelled as well as the busy body. Yes, he is kind and all to JJ, but he is also trying to stick his nose on every other business JJ has. He ran to her when she was catching her cousin. Helping her, albeit in scaredy cat mode, when she was screaming in fear of snake. He went looking for her at the mayor office as well. Guess BGW is one hell of a busy body.

– Baek Geun Woo and Lee Jeong Joo are neighbors!!! The dilapidated rucksack she now has to call her home is located just next to Baek Geun Woo’s house. He even gave her the key to his house and told her to use his house as she pleases.

– Jeong Joo is a rational and very calculated heroine. This is not your everyday heroine because let’s admit, she is brave enough to move back to Jeju. She admits to BGW that she has nothing left in Seoul. She went straight to her “new” house and went all positive after seeing chinese tourists wandering around her house. Thinking her place might be a lucrative business spot. Plus she thinks that the mayor is a good catch. Funny thing because the mayor is actually a model for her former lingerie company. hahaha…

The episode ends with JJ and GW looking at the sunrise together. Will they ride into the sunset without much hurdle? Only the next episode can tell. For now, let’s enjoy the video excerpts from MBC

The ratings dipped lower for the second episode with 5.6% nationwide (11,5 % online). Regardless, the netizens’ comments are generally good for the episode so we are hoping that the story-telling and editing improve in many episodes to come.

[20150510] Yoo Yeon Seok Wants Son Ho Joon and Baro to Cameo in “Warm and Cozy”

Actor Yoo Yeon Seok expressed his desire for his friends Son Ho Joon and B1A4‘s Baro to make cameo appearances in his upcoming drama, “Warm and Cozy.”

For their latest broadcast, the entertainment news show “Section TV interviewed Yoo Yeon Seok and his leading lady Kang Sora to talk about their upcoming drama.

During the interview, the interviewer asked them, “I heard that actor So Ji Sub will be making a cameo on the drama. Is there anyone else you’d like to cameo on the drama?”

To the question, Yoo Yeok Seok answered, “I want Son Ho Joon to be on the show. If Son Ho Joon comes to the show, we’ll have three meals a day on Jeju Island. I also want ‘Angry Mom‘s’ Baro to make an appearance.” He then jokingly added, “They’ve now been verbally confirmed to appear on the drama.”

To Yoo Yeon Seok’s answer, Kang Sora further commented, “It’d be nice to have both of them on the drama.”

[20150510] Yoo Yeon Seok, The February 1990’s Actresses Killer

Earlier today, Yoo Yeon Seok official facebook page announced to the world (literally) that Yoo Yeon Seok will appear in MBC Section TV with fellow Warm and Cozy cast members. The announcement hinted that viewers would be surprised by the revelations made by the cast members.

So what are these “surprises” that were revelead by the cast? Let’s list them down one by one:

1. Yoo Yeon Seok is officially the “February 1990’s Actresses Killer”

The MC revealed that a good number of Yoo Yeon Seok’s female co-stars surprisingly were born on February 1990. In total, 5 actresses who had worked with him share the same month and year of birth. They are Baek Jin Hee (18/19 Hoya), Go Ara (Reply 1994), Park Bo Young (Werewolf Boy), Park Shin Hye (Royal Tailor), and Kang Sora (Warm and Cozy). Apparently he didn’t realize this similarity and looked very puzzled. When he realized it, he finally got why Kang Sora called him “February 1990’s Actresses Killer” earlier.

2. The end of “one-sided love character”

Or shall we say, the end of chilbongie era? Thanks to Chilbongie, Yoo Yeon Seok is well known for the one-sided love character. But do you know that this typical ill-fated roles that he played goes way back in the past? Literally every single character he ever portrayed, with the exception from “Born To Sing” and perhaps to some degree “Whistle Blower”, suffers from either one-sided love or other love misery. Baek Geun Woo marks the end of that era.

Yoo Yeon Seok: I am a specialist in one-sided love characters. Now I am the man who gets love.
Kang Sora: Yes, I like him first

3. Yoo Yeon Seok is forever Mama Yeon Seok

Youth Over Flowers dubbed him as Mama Yeon Seok because he is one thoughtful guy who acts not only as friend, but also as mother duck. He woke up the earliest, cooked breakfast, made coffee, persuaded Ho Jun to eat, bought fruit and cut it for the kiddos, and so on. We can go on forever so let’s just stop there. It appears that Mama Yeon Seok is just being the thoughtful guy he is on the set of Warm and Cozy as well.

Kang Sora praised his knife skills
Kim Sung Oh: He cleaned up after the drinking session
Lee Seung Jae: He is a thoughtful guy
Yoo Yeon Seok: Hyung, I love you (while giving little heart sign)
