Yoo Yeon Seok’s Blue Team has assembled its musical talents and they are: Milkboy Kwak Yi An (8), Musical lover Hong Eui Hyun (11), Returned kid Park Ye Eun (9), Rap baby Lee Harang (6), Little devoted daughter Choi Myeon Bin (9), and Vitamin girl Choi Ye Na (9).

When they introduced themselves, they also introduced a nickname for their handsome teacher. Yoo Yeon Seok is now officially called ‘crybaby teacher’. Simply because he sheds tears too many times. Not a sad tears, mind you. They are happy tears. d awwww…

For Blue Team’s first performance, Yoo Yeon Seok chose an old song from Sanulrim titled “goodbye”. He said that he liked the song alot when he was a kid. Yoo Yeon Seok admitted of crying whenever he watches the movie in which this song is played. He still has it on his mobile phone and played it for staff member. For him team, he introduced the song in more special way. Yoo Yeon Seok himself sings it for them! Watch Yoo Yeon Seok sings ‘goodbye’ in the next video.

Raise your hand if you shed some tears like crybaby teacher, Yoo Yeon Seok. Although he denied of crying when Park Bo Young asked him to stop crying, he quickly flashed a smile and congratulated his team for putting a great performance.

[WEKID] Introducing Teacher Yoo Yeon Seok’s Blue Team

Are you religiously watching Yoo Yeon Seok’s variety show “WEKID” that is currently airing on MNet / TvN? If you haven’t watched it, we would like to recommend you to check it out because the children in this show are so ready to steal your heart or to make you shed some tears.

Yoo Yeon Seok and composer Yoo Il Sang join forces to form the Blue Team. In each episode, each child singer sings in front of a large audience that are separated into adult and child group. If the candidate won the votes from both adult and child  groups, he/she will be able to choose the mentor of their liking. However, if the candidate got the vote only from either group in the audience, the mentors will decide whether they want lure them into their team or not.

Following the airing of the 3rd episode, 5 kids are on board Yoo Yeon Seok’s blue team. Let’s meet them one by one .

Unlike other singing competition, this show is not about eliminating candidates and searching for the best singer out there. It is more about a friendly competition in creating children’s songs together where children take part in a festival environment. According to the chief producer Kim Yong-beom during press conference, the first-place team receives a prize from the Education minister and a scholarship.

Producer Kim also said an interesting tidbit on the selection of Yoo Yeon Seok, Park Bo Young and Tiger JK as mentors. Quoted from an article by Koreaherald, MNet brought in the three celebrities because they show sincere interest in music and the children, both on and off camera. Looking at the photos shared by Lee Harang and Hong Eui Hyun, MNet’s claim is not too far off. Outside WEKID and off camera, Yoo Yeon Seok invited his team members to his musical, ‘Man Who Walks Through Doors’ and made time to take picture together. Check out their photos below:

Oh how sweet…

As broadcaster, MNet joins the BlueTeam bandwagon by releasing many pictures of Blue Team to our delight. The pictures were taken from the upcoming choir battle. Yoo Yeon Seok was seen sitting among his students and hugged them as well. We don’t know yet the event behind the passionate shoulder gangsters hug, so make sure you catch episode 4 of WEKID.

Another tidbits from the preview of next episode, Yoo Yeon Seok and his team will go to some sort of a boot camp. They will be singing under the snow while walking together through the forest. What a lovely scene.. but as any other team in the world, they will face some challenges and adversaries. Yoo Yeon Seok is seen attending Choi Myeong Bin who is crying. Then he looks completely stress out during practice. What is actually happening? And will they do well in the choir battle?

[WEKID] Introducing Teacher Yoo Yeon Seok

After briefly telling the whole wide world just how Yoo Yeon Seok is defeated by the children, WEKID makes sure that we are now properly introduced to the so-called innocent pacifist  teacher.

“If I have problem with children, I think I’ll solve it with communication. Won’t it be settled? Hahaha”

“An innocent pacifist Yoo Yeon Seok”, who believes that any problem can be solved with calm conversation.

A Jinju boy who is also a former choir member when he was young. He has been working actively on screen and now, in musical stage where he has to sing 29 songs. A music gangster who is  full of twist, Yoo Yeon Seok!

A pacifist who is confident that any problem can be solved with communication and serious problem can be settled by “role playing”; a huge test approaches him.

Unexpected situation happened. Can he peacefully manage 18 kids who keep making troubles with communication and role playing methods? Or maybe that day will become the day when Yoo Yeon Seok who lives as a pacifist finally exploded?

Yoo Yeon Seok is one of the teachers in WEKID alongside Park Bo Young and Tiger JK. In the second preview featuring Park Bo Young, we are shown the striking difference in the children’s response to Yoo Yeon Seok and Park Bo Young. While Park Bo Young managed to grab the attention of the children to the point that they won’t even want to let her go, Yoo Yeok Seok stands at the opposite end.

Question is, will their method of teaching bring any difference to the children’s performance on stage? Or will we ever get to see the pacifist shoulder gangster explode?

[20160205] Teacher Yoo Yeon Seok Is Defeated by the Children in ‘WEKID’ Preview

If you think that Yoo Yeon Seok will have a walk in the park during the shooting of MNet’s new music show ‘WEKID’, then think again.

In the show’s preview released on 5 February, it’s pretty obvious that the children was excited to have a handsome teacher at first. But seconds later, they ignored him completely. When he asked the children to concentrate for 5 minutes, that plea was ignored as well. The children kept on asking him to gift them present. The kids are also quite oblivious of his instruction to stop moving when he claps his hand.

He retreated from the class sweating, a clear sign of struggle and to some extent, defeat. Definitely, whatever child psychology theory he presented to the staff that earned him ‘child expert label’ went to drain in real life. Yet, the kids are shown performing very well on stage, even brought Yoo Yeon Seok to tears.

Yoo Yeon Seok to Mentor Children in MNet’s Music Show “WE KID”

Yoo Yeon Seok, along with actress Park Bo Young and rapper Tiger JK, is confirmed to join MNet’s new music show titled ‘We Kid’ as a permanent mentor.

Yoo Yeon Seok personally announced his participation in the show through an instagram post on 01 February 2016. He posted a cheerful photo of himself with Park Bo Young and Tiger JK.

Yoo Yeon Seok will act as the children’s mentor in creating a trendy and unique musical stage. According to Kim Young Bum who is in charge of directing ‘We Kid’, Yoo Yeon Seok was chosen because he is seen as a talented actor who has shown outstanding performances in drama, film and even musical. As someone who also shows great interest in child psychology, he is a perfect fit for ‘We Kid’.

Yoo Yeon Seok himself reveals that he learned about the use of play (theater) as child psychological therapy in the past. He sees that a child’s behavior is very much influenced by the way he was raised. For his villain acting gig, he also learned that there must be some trauma involved if a child behaved badly. Therefore, he considers listening to children as a way to understand them and to solve their concern.

With Yoo Yeon Seok on board, the show officially enters production with another surprise. Each mentor receives support from another star who happens to be close to them in real life. Yoo Yeon Seok is joined by Baro, Park Bo Young with Lee Kwang Soo, and Tiger JK with wife, Yoon Mi Rae. Each mentor will team up with a professional music composer. Yoo Yeon Seok and composer Yoon Il Sang join forces to make a ‘sweet & hitmaker bro’ team.
