[News] The Royal Tailor Received An Award in New York and Gets Screening Date in Japan

The Royal Tailor snatched another award from the New York Asian Film Festival following an official announcement on 15 July 2015. The movie garnered 94% positive votes to bring home the 2015 Audience Award, beating Korean social drama “Cart”, Korean documentary  “My Love, Don’t Cross That River’ and Cambodian drama “The Last Reel”. The movie is considered by NYAFF as a playful, fresh and daring reinvention of one of Korea’s most conservative film genres which offers a unique blend of fantasy and humor that charmed and moved New York audiences. The so-called Korean fashion-themed historical drama is praised for its stunning insight to Royal costume and textile designed by Jo Sang-gyeong. This is the second audience award for Royal Tailor after receiving one in the 17th Udine Far East Film Festival.

Royal Tailor’s director, Lee Won Suk, was present during the NYAFF and gave an interview in which he talked about working with Yoo Yeon Seok and Park Shin-Hye. Quoted from the an article released by KDramaStars, Director Lee mentioned that Yoo Yeon Seok is such a hard worker who has a great personality and is very caring. Working with Yoo Yeon Seok and Park Shin Hye for Royal Tailor was an amazing experience for him. 

After New York, The Royal Tailor is set to charm the Japanese audience following the announcement of nationwide screening starting 7 November 2015. The movie, titled サンイウォン / Saniwon in Japanese, will be screened on CinemArt in Shinjuku, Tokyo and Shinsaibashi, Osaka.

[20150625] On The Set : Updates on Yoo Yeon Seok’s Works

Hello again!

You might be confused why I am here again. Don’t be! I am here for another update series. Slightly different from the other series, “On The Set” particularly features any trivia or update related to Yoo Yeon Seok’s works like movie, drama, variety show or CFs. So, shall we begin?

Yoo Yeon Seok’s latest movie ‘Beauty Inside‘ finally got it’s premiere date. According to the movie distributor NEW, the movie is scheduled for public screening on 20 August 2015. Following the announcement, new poster was revealed alongside some bts photos.

Will Han Hyo Joo get to kiss all the 21 Woo Jin in one movie? Will Yoo Yeon Seok really kiss Han Hyo Joo in the movie? In a month or so, we will get the answer!

Talking about an answer, Yoo Yeon Seok’s previous drama ‘Answer Me 1994’ aka ‘Reply 1994‘ gets another Japanese rerun in Japan’s DLife. The Disney’s owned satelite TV will air the drama from Monday to Friday every 1.30 PM starting today, 25 June 2015. Check the full schedule HERE.

Once Answer Me 1994 completed its second run, Japanese viewers will not be missing Yoo Yeon Seok for too long. KNTV has picked up his recent drama ‘Warm and Cozy‘ to be aired in Japan starting 15 August 2015. The drama will air every Saturday and Sunday. More information on the drama’s airing in KNTV here.

Are you excited for Japanese’s broadcast of ‘Warm and Cozy’ and ‘Reply 1994’?

The latest update came from ‘Royal Tailor‘. The movie had completed it’s run in Korea but it doesn’t stop them from releasing a video commentary featuring its leading casts including Go Soo, Yoo Yeon Seok and Park Shin Hye. The video commentary was featured on MBC’ Let’s Go! Video Travel on 21 June 2015 and has Yoo Yeon Seok – Park Shin Hye – Lee Yubi acting all cute behind the scene.

Royal Tailor DVD is now on sale so if you are a diehard fan of this movie or one of its casts, you can find it on various stores.

On an instagram post by Director Lee Won-suk, Yoo Yeon Seok with his Royal Tailor co-stars Park Shin Hye and Go Soo are bidding farewell to their movie.

[20141211] Yoo Yeon Seok trapped in mixed feeling for his role as a King in “The Tailor”

Actor Yoo Yeonseok has revealed his burden and pride on acting as a King from Joseon period on movie “The Tailor”.

In the movie’s premiere screening for media which was held yesterday at Konkuk University Lotte Cinema, Seoul, the actor was asked about his feeling when wearing the King’s attire during the filming and if there was a burden for King’s role. The actor who gained popularity after his role as Chilbong in drama “Reply 1994″ answered that he rather has mix feeling for the role.

“I feel flattered as I can wear the King’s attire. Thanks to this movie project I finally got a change to wear the royal attire. When I was doing my scene inside one of the palace in Seoul, I especially has a weird feeling. It might be a joy as I feel like a real King,” said the actor.

However, He also feel the burdensome in recreating a king from Joseon dynasty. “What I most concern is how to show to movie viewers; the lifestyle of the king, and how he act in front of his surrounding. I’m afraid if I will make the wrong image. That’s the most difficult thing from this role,” he ended.

“The Tailor” is a historical movie which follows a story of Lee Gongjin, a tailor who works for royal family. The movie features actor Go Soo as Lee Gongjin, veteran Han Seokgyu as the head of tailor Jo Dolseok, Yoo Yeonseok as the King, and Park Shin Hye as the queen. The movie is set to premier on December 24.

[20141211] Yoo Yeon Seok: I don’t really care about my “bad guy” image

Actor Yoo Yeonseok has expressed his thoughts about his “bad guy” image in some of his movie projects.

Ttwigo attended the press premiere of movie “The Tailor” yesterday, at Konkuk University Lotte Cinema, Seoul. During the Q&A session, the actor was asked about “Bad guy” image that is attached to him after his role in several movies. He had acted in “Architecture 101″ with Bae Suzy and “A Werewolf Boy” with Park Boyoung, and received bad impression for his characters who always tormented the lead actress, which at the time was seen as the national little sister.

“I don’t really care about my image. What I’m concern is how I bring my character to life. Like in this movie, rather than the bad side of the King, I put my focus more to how he loves his queen but also is deeply hurt by the betrayal at the same time,” he answered.

At the end of the Q&A session, the actor who received loves for his character as Chilbong in 2013′s hit drama “Reply 1994″ also expressed his pride for the movie.

“As I watch the movie for the first time today I feel really proud for my acting and for the project itself. I also believe that this project won’t be the an embarrassing project for all the staff and actors here,” he said.

“The Tailor” is a a movie which tells a story of Lee Dongjin, a royal tailor who makes clothes for the King and the royal family. It stars Yoo Yeonseok, Park Shin Hye, Go Soo and Han Sukgyoo, along with Ma Dongseok. The movie itself will be out on December 24.

Actor Yoo Yeon Seok from the upcoming historical film “The Royal Tailor” said he wants to date Park Shin Hye. On today’s episode of the SBS entertainment news program Midnight TV Entertainment, actors and actresses of the upcoming historical film “The Royal Tailor” appeared. Actor Go Soo commented, “Yoo Yeon Seok and Park Shin Hye are so close, I thought they were going out.” Park Shin Hye jokingly said, “He never contacted me after work.”

[20141205] The Flawless “Flower Skin” Of Main Characters Of An Upcoming Movie


The movie ‘Tailors’ is awaiting its release in Korea. The reason why this movie is receiving attention outside of Korea is due to the actors that Asia fans love and trust for their acting, Park Shin Hye and Yoo Yeon Seok.

It is also predicted to be one of the most popular box office hits of the second half of 2014 because of the cast consisting of Han Suk Gyu, the god of acting, and Go Soo, known for his handsome face and talent.
